Dennis Sato has over 30 years of health care management experience having served in the public and private sectors. He has served in senior management positions as the Chief Information Officer for six organizations in California, Oregon, and Hawaii and the interim CEO for the Oahu Region for the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC). He served as the Vice President of the HHSC Foundation Board and Assisted Living business entity. He has chaired the Diversity and Cultural Competence Committee for two hospitals.

CIO for El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, California. Responsible for executing a system-wide information technology plan that included financial, clinical, and administrative systems. El Camino was awarded one of the Most Wired hospital in 2003.
Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC). Responsible for information technology for 12 hospitals located on five Hawaiian islands.
Chief Information Officer for Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH), a 1215-bed Hospital that is a Division of the San Francisco Department of Public Health Community Health Network.

Currently serves as a Board Member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) of Northern California. Previously served as a Member of the HIMSS National Nomination Committee and a Member of the HIMSS Summit 2007 Planning Committee. Served as Chair of previous HIMSS Summits and Member of the HIMSS National Education Committee. Awarded the Fellow designation (FHIMSS) and the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management (CPHIMS) in 2002. Past Board Member and Chair of the Northern California Information Systems Committee of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Currently a board member of the Marin County Human Rights Commission, San Rafael, California.
Previously served on the following commissions in Oregon: Appointed by the Governor to serve on the Commission of Asian Affairs; a Member of the Salem Oregon’s Human Rights Commission, Community Policing Advisory Committee, and Chemeketa College’s Diversity Leadership Council.
